Gregory Cromwell, 1st Baron Cromwell (c. 1514 - 4 July1551) was born in Putney, Surrey, the son of Thomas Cromwell, 1st Earl of Essex, and Elizabeth Wykes. He was tutored by Richard Southwell, and attended the University of Cambridge. He married Elizabeth Seymour, the aunt of Edward VI. They had five children: Henry, Frances, Catherine, Edward, and Thomas.

Baron Cromwell is a title that has been created several times in the Peerage of England.The first creation, which was by writ, was for John de Cromwell in 1308.On his death, the barony became extinct. The second creation came in 1375 when Ralph de Cromwell was summoned by writ to Parliament as Lord Cromwell. His grandson, the third baron, served as Lord High Treasurer to King Henry VI.

HenryArundell, 7th Baron Arundell of Wardour was born on 4 October 1717.1,2 He was the son of HenryArundell, 6th Baron Arundell of Wardour and Elizabeth EleanorEverard.1 He was also reported to have been born on 4 March 1717/18.1 He married MaryBellings-Arundell, daughter of RichardBellings-Arundell and AnneGage, on 27 January 1738/39, with a dower of £70,000.1 He died on 12 September 1756 at age 38 at Wardour Castle, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1 He was buried on 22 September 1756 at Tisbury, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1 His will was proven (by probate) on 26 January 1757, by Mary, the widow and universal legatee.1
His last will was dated between 10 May 1739 and 27 February 1754. He succeeded as the 7th Baron Arundell of Wardour, co. Wiltshire [E., 1605] on 30 June 1746.1
